What is Fur Ball?
The annual Fur Ball is our biggest single fundraising event of the year. First held in the year 2000, the event brought in around $2,000. We've come a long way since then! More recent Fur Balls have netted over $30,000 - all for the animals! We've even had cash donations from everybody's favorite Golden Girl and avid animal supporter, Betty White, at past Fur Balls! A portion of the proceeds from Fur Ball go toward shelter operations, while the rest goes toward our Big Fix spay and neuter program.

What happens at Fur Ball?
Be ready to have fun when you come to the Fur Ball. We have an appetizer buffet, dance floor and DJ, and a wonderful silent auction full of a variety of items - jewelry, artwork, pet items, celebrity autographed items, gift certificate packages for anything from spa services to hotel stays, and MUCH MORE! We'll also have a cash bar, KCHA merchandise sales, a 50/50 raffle, and special emcees from our local radio stations. This year it's Coach Kidd and Ali Jaye from Electric 102.7! Plus, psychic Ann Reynolds will be on hand to tell you your future! Ann charges $20 per reading with ALL proceeds going to the shelter! [Please note that we do not have credit card capabilities at the Clubhouse. We can only accept cash or check for silent auction items, merchandise sales, Ann's readings, etc. If you purchase auction items and do not have cash/check, you can make arrangements with staff to pick up your items at the shelter.]

What do I wear?
Despite the "ball" title, the Fur Ball is NOT a black tie event. Casual dress is just fine!

How do I get tickets?
Tickets are available at the shelter during business hours. Our board members also have some tickets for sale, so if you know anyone on the board of directors, check with them!

Where is Coonskin Park?
Take exit 99 off I-64 and follow Greenbrier Street for 2.5 miles. You'll drive right past the animal shelter! Take a left on Coonskin Drive and the park entrance will be another mile. Signs in the park will point you toward the Clubhouse. Check out the Coonskin Park website for more information.

Can I donate to or sponsor Fur Ball?
Yes you can! We have special sponsorhip levels that come with certain perks or you can make any monetary donation you'd like by visiting the shelter. We also welcome donations for our silent auction!
